Really fallen for the r7 over the years
Bought this bike brand new a little over 2 years and 12,000 miles ago. It was supposed to be a temporary intermediate bike to really hone my skills after 1.5 years on a Ninja 400. I have to say that although I occasionally wish for some more top end, this bike is seriously fun every single ride.
I live in a major metro, so I deal with lots of traffic, interstate highways, suburban twisties, lane splitting and filtering, and sparsely traveled backroads. The engine and bike is absolutely stoked to do any single one of those scenarios.
While I def see the appeal, I can’t justify daily riding an I4 supersport where I live. I have a good job and can’t afford to get caught touching 150 mph anyway. My bike still sees triple digits easily almost every day and off the line and to about 100mph feels absolutely quick, faster than 98% of the vehicles out there ( definitely humbled occasionally by fast bois on supersports doin wot ). While it’s not “slow” per se, I do enjoy pushing a slow bike fast more than babying something that’s miserable down low and happiest all the way up.
It’s slim, athletic, beautiful, and sounds distinctly cool, mine w a yoshi and some tasteful mods gets compliments daily. It’s going to hurt when I trade it in probably for something with a CP3 next year. It’s an insanely fun and very capable bike<3
Thanks for listening to my rant, especially since most of us are already R7 fanboys and know all of this already. I guess this is more for the bros who don’t know the bike well. It’s very versatile and with the skill set you can Almost ride it to its full potential.
