I’m trying to plan ahead this year instead of scrambling in December.

For those who decorate every year, have you actually saved money buying lights months in advance, or do you still find the best deals during holiday sales?

I’ve been looking into Christmas light installation as a seasonal service, and I keep seeing it described as highly profitable. However, from a small business perspective, I’m trying to understand the real picture beyond the highlights. For those actually running this:

• How do margins hold up after labor, materials, and callbacks?
• Is the season long enough to make it worthwhile, or does it feel rushed?
• What ends up being the biggest unexpected cost?

Not trying to knock the business, just want a clearer view from people actually doing it.
