this has been an ongoing thing in my relationship with him, but it has gotten progressively worse. During situations where i won’t want to speak to my boyfriend, for example, he will say something to hurt me, or i will find out he has cheated or lied, so i would then of course ask for space and will stop messaging for a few hours, he will go mad, he will threaten to kill himself, and threaten to call my family members to tell them about my personal information, which has also been a part of the reason for why i haven’t broken up with him. There have also been times where he has physically taken my laptop when my university work is due, and will not return it until i ‘lose my attitude’. I know i need to leave him and i have tried, but every time he has either showed up to my house, or has messaged my family, and of course threatening to take his life every single time and spam calling me through no caller id (he has called over 300 times in one day when this happens). I am aware that his behaviours are extremely abusive and controlling, and i want to leave him as soon as possible, but i am worried for my safety, the police don’t care about it because he hasn’t made violent threats towards me or my family, so i genuinely just don’t know what to do. If anyone has advice on what i can do to prevent harm, other than ”break up with him and call the police if he threatens to come to your house” because they have told me they cannot do anything if he’s not trying to break in.
