Got some chrome powders and a water-based top coat, and decided to do some chrome powder experiments over the weekend!

The process was surprisingly easy! I applied my whole mani as usual, waited until the QDTC was juuuuust dry enough to be touched without smudging, then buffed the chrome powder in. I used a small, fluffy brush to dab the powder onto the nail first, then I used my finger to rub on a little more powder in a circular motion & dusted off the excess. I let all of that dry for about 30 mins before applying the water based top coat. I applied the water based top coat very carefully, making sure to float it as much as I could to prevent it from removing the chrome powder. Then, I let the water-based top coat dry for about 45 mins before applying the final layer of QDTC to lock it all in.

I'm really excited about the end result! It's not perfect, but I think I'd be totally in love with this mani if it weren't for the excessive bubbling (and my lazy clean up job lol.) My bottle of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri is almost empty and honestly I applied it way too thick. But it's ok because this was just an experiment! :) I'm really excited to keep experimenting with chrome powders & lacquer!
