My new anal fissure is a beast. The last one was in 2015 and was treated with RECTIV and the standard other conservative tools.
This time I visited the urgent care, was with a lot of pain, and requested RECTIV ($$$$). The PA offered info on Nifedipine & Diltiazem but I wasn't listening well.
The first question: is RECTIV 'old school.' Should I go with the other options.
My use in 2015 and now of a topical lidocaine seems to make the pain much worse.
I get two kinds of pain: the first is the dull ache/throbbing of the internal spincter and maxes out at 4/5 on the ten scale. The second pain must be radiating from the fissure itself and is an intense burning/stinging that ranges all the way up to a 7/8 on the ten scale; I think the burning is coming from the liidocaine.
Looking for advice as I head back to urgent care in the AM (if I can even sit)
