Need advice on puppies at home while we’re gone

Hello all! Long time lurker first time poster.l

My boyfriend and I recently got brave and adopted two puppies from the same litter about a month ago. They’re 14 week old blue heelers.

At first one would go with my boyfriend to work with him. Mostly Bandit, our blue boy who we got first and was supposed to be his “shop dog”. He’s a mechanic and would keep him at his shop and take him around. Recently he stopped due to not being sure he was going to stay at that shop and since then both the boys stay home and free roam like our other older dogs. We shut the doors and try to keep everything out of reach for them but man, are these jerks too smart for their own good.

Neither of us are able to come home and let them out in between so we know we can’t be upset about the potty messes. But how do we try to get them to stop destroying everything.

They have toys, they nap in their crates, and have plenty of things to keep them occupied but all they want to do is terrorize our home. Yesterday I came in and found them on the table. Had to move the chair to keep them off.

Advice appreciated. I joke about wanting to bring them back to their mom but I’m just a liiiiittle stressed at the moment.

Thanks in advance!

Just an update on the adventures of Gravy and Bandit

Double the dawg double the trouble. And poop. And pee puddles. And barks. And walks. AND: cuddles and love 🥰

Gravy is still doing really well on learning his hand signals and they both do awesome on walks (I have a 20’ leash I use to work on recall and keeping Gravy checking in when we’re out) Gravy does great on the four wheeler rides which is awesome because I want to bring him home to my village when I go this summer. Him being deaf has its perks too! He’s not scared at all and is pretty brave. Stupidly so when it comes to his older siblings lol. He’s also obsessed with Willow. Our 12 year old ACD/Husky mix. I never have my phone when he’s giving her the googly eyes 😭

Bandit has become my more cozy boy. It’s like they switched personalities lol. He went with me to the MMIP rally on May 5 and I made him his signs. There are lots of picture of him around on Facebook locally being cute and advocating for our people. He’s also learning really well and does great on his walks. Not many pictures of him on the four wheeler rides because I have to hold him to make sure he doesn’t fall off. Bandit does the best running next to the wheeler while Gravy scares me because he gets too close to the wheel.

Bandits’s been going to work less with his dad which Bandit likes but I think it’s making them more grumpy with each other by evening time. They sleep in their kennels just fine at night, and during the day we close off the rooms and they get to hang out free range in the house. We just make sure everything we want kept in one piece is away from them.

As always tips and guidance welcome!

At the end of March we adopted Bandit (blue) from my friend. About 5 days later my friend texted me a picture of another pup who’s family fell through saying he don’t know what to do with him. I made a joke about giving me a buy one get one half off deal and he actually agreed to it. So we brought home Gravy (red)! Gravy is deaf, but he listens better than Bandit. I think gravy will be a thicc boii like his dad. Bandit will be a smoll but mighty boii built more like his mom.

Over all they are great, at least we think so. Our older dogs aren’t thrilled about the energetic balls of fur but the cats are enjoying bullying them and teaching them who’s boss.
