We were invited to "table" at our State Capitol for an event, so you know we had to bring a bed!

There is so much misery around us, it can be paralyzing.

Taxes, inflation, war, greed, hate, all of it at once.

But when you zoom in at ground level, does it feel paralyzing, or does it feel like you could make things......happier?

This is what I choose to do, every single day. And it's not all easy. Taking PTO to table, or "bed".......(I need a clever name for our style btw.)

Because when you take your capability, and give to someone less who can't, you stop being paralyzed.

I promise, it wasn't that long ago that I was on the internet arguing with everyone stranger, and accomplishing very little.

I didn't give up. I gave in.

I gave into my promise.

I gave into truth.

I gave into hope.

I'm not religious, but I am proud of who I've become. I'm proud of not letting failures dictate the rest of my life. I'm proud of giving in.

I'm happy. I hope you are too. But if not, reach out. I'd love to help you get there.

In the meantime, I'm going to share some personal stories of the experience of providing a bed to a child for the first time in their life.

If I could ask one favor: wish me luck. I'm rolling solo today.

When I'm not at work, I build beds from lumber for kids in my region who don't have their own.

Nationally, it is estimated that about three percent of children in the US don't sleep in a bed.

In my area, it's nine to thirteen percent.

Beds are the number one tool in all of our toolboxes when it comes to our health. Whether we're fighting illness, resting after an intense workout, or just sinking into the mattress after a long work day. If we don't get restful sleep, our bodies will pay the price, and life-altering disorders will creep in.

It's no different for children, and if we don't help them now, they won't be able to take over the roles we all hold in life. And those that come after us, won't be able to achieve the same results we have.

For me, the choice is simple: do something.

Enjoy the photos! I consider this a life well loved. 🤙

Hi All!

When I'm not at work, I build beds for kids in my community who don't have one.

I cover an area over 1,000 square miles, and have built and delivered thousands of beds for kids throughout the US, finally getting a chance to ply my craft in my home region.

Never let it be said you don't have time to make a difference in the lives of others.

You surely do.

Check my team out as we tackle a hidden problem that is quite prolific in our corner of Washington State:

And on Facebook: facebook.com/shppugetsounds/

If you're ever having a down day, hop on our FB page and scan the prior bed delivery pictures and videos. You'd be surprised how different your day will become.

Take care (Sleep fans)!

Hey all!

Come on out to Five Guys this coming Saturday, and hang with us as we discuss all things child bedlessness in the South Sound!

When you order and say "I'm supporting SHP" twenty percent of your purchase goes directly to us so we can keep building beds for kids in need.

We look forward to meeting you, and thank you for helping kids reaching a better life!

A few days ago I posted pictures from the bed build my nonprofit, Sleep in Heavenly Peace - Puget Sound South.

Some people asked to see deliveries.

Well, I'm delighted!

Here's the story for this delivery: our chapter covers a large area, and this was our first delivery in a then new area we accepted for service. I'm being vague for a reason.

These three kids (not pictured for safety) lost their father four years ago.

He was a construction laborer and was commuting to one location to then rideshare with a group of his co-workers to the job site. One day, on the way back to their commute point, an argument broke out. About what, there doesn't seem to be consensus on. But, everyone got dropped off at their vehicles, and went their separate ways.......however, this man didn't make it home. Three days later, his vehicle was located back at the commute point, but he has not been seen or heard from since.

Their mother, obviously devastated, had to relocate out of the area from where they were living at the time. And because the three children are still so young, she had to give up her own job, and now runs her own child care center out of the home they live in now.

And that leaves this tiny room for three kids to use for themselves.

We did the best we could to maximize their space, and give them a sense of independence, but as you can see, that was a challenge that we couldn't quite win.

But now, they have safe comfortable beds. And they can sleep soundly, and dream big. And maybe even heal some very deep wounds.

I know they were grateful, because they made us dinner for showing up so late that October night (we had a few other delvieries before theirs).

At SHP you don't get paid a dollar for your efforts, but you would not believe the sense of purpose, and the gratitude you feel in helping a child in need.

I hope you enjoy the photos!

Perfect weather, not so perfect lumber 🤣🤣🤣🤣!

But, we got 39 out of it! We'll get another eight out this lumber another day, but rain caught us early today.

It was a PHENOMENAL weekend! Wish you were here!
