I bought a gba on eBay that worked well for an hour then the light turned red then lasted for hours before the batteries died. Since the minute the light turned red prematurely, it would fade out as the console is rustled or the switch wiggled. Originally one of the terminals was corroded but I fully cleaned it to the point it’s impossible to tell (no damage on the board either). I cleaned the switch and added new solder to both ends of it and that didn’t improve anything. It wasn’t until I put in brand new batteries straight from the store that the power is green with no dimming or flickering with the switch wiggling. Even with new batteries it flickers between red and green for a second when I switch it off. Is it worth it (or even necessary) to replace the switch with an aftermarket one or should I return it to the seller and get a better one? I was planning on changing the screen and adding a battery pack anyways.
