Coming up on two years

Literal ups and downs. I just want it to be done now. It's basically complete. Just waiting on some outside resources that I can't rush or crunch myself. Using the time to polish (I know, this isn't a bad thing). I feel like I'm losing more wishlists than usual but, looking at the data, it seems to correlate roughly.

I accidentally made it so pausing doesn’t fully stop physics — you can still burn fuel and “pause boost” your rocket.

It’s actually more efficient than normal thrust… but almost always ends like this.

I’ve been having fun trying to abuse it to skip parts of levels, but it’s incredibly inconsistent.

So:

a) remove it
b) keep it and pretend it’s intentional (“against health & safety regulations”)
c) something else?

Game’s called 5hit Rocket — somehow got the Steam page up yesterday

A godot project I resurrected. They approved it within 3 days. I guess having games like Sex with Hitler setting a nice low bar is good in this situation. It's a very silly and very difficult lander game. Loved working in Godot. Would recommend! 5hit Rocket on Steam

So I finished my first ever Godot project called 5hit Rocket on Steam. It's a quite difficult and quite silly lander game. My other big project (2 years in the making) is on hold so I decided to resurrect this learning project and finish it from two years ago. Got a 2 player co-op involving shackled rockets, a kebab delivery zero G level (with cool gravity slingshots etc) and a sub terranean 'dark' level on the moons of Titan. Really happy with the whole process.

It's been a lot of fun. Loved drawing, making the music and sound. Not a natural programmer but managed to make it work.

Currently having some issues with controller inputs and steam...

But feeling optimistic and VERY appreciative of the amazing godot community and the engine. Audio particularly. My previous engine experience was Adventure Game Studio so... it was a bit like watching colour TV for the first time.

The steam page went live today so I'm celebrating in the sun shine.

Good luck with all your magic everyone. Because it is magic.
