I finally went for it and picked up a Lil Native. I'm a fan of CTS-XHP, so I'm pretty stoked to have this one for the 5th pocket carry

NSD from RGT

Got my first set of scales from Ripps. Went with the black burlap micarta and the ripple pattern. I dig it. I had only heard good things about them, and it's nice to change it up from AWT aluminum now and then

I've been wanting one of these for a while, and finally pulled the trigger. So far, I'm really digging it

New Year's Resolution Week 19

Stumbled a little in my one random knife per week challenge. Last week with the Vosteed was great. I'm really happy I picked that one up. It didn't disappoint. I carried the Manix 2 as my Saturday freebie with the original scales, and after the new AWT/Flytanium extras installed on Sunday, it just happened to be in my pocket for Manix Monday. But, back to following the rules. Which is gonna be pretty freakin easy this week. The random wheel did it right this time, and I finally get to carry the 15v Native 5. Since I got it, I've only carried twice as my Saturday freebie choice. So, I'm stoked to get some pocket time with it. Kinda sucks to park the Manix after adding the mods, but it is what it is.

Manix Monday

Got the new scales out for a test drive. I'm happy I rolled the dice with the charcoal green.

We're over at the in-laws for supper, and my brother in law was showing me his new rifle. He pulled this bad boy out of the safe because he remembered I like "those spider knives" He doesn't remember where exactly he got it, but he thinks it was from some rep at his work. (General manager at an equipment and implement dealer) He's a bit of a snob, and said it feels like "cheap plastic junk." So, $40 cash and a case of Busch light, now it's coming home with me. Still in the plastic bag, still had oil on it. He took it out once and didn't like it. God bless his foolish ass. I've got a set of OD green FRN scales off of my DLT exclusive cruwear delica that just may have to get swapped on when we get home.

NSD & standard upgrades

Charcoal Green cerakote goodness from AWT with a forest green ball cage and ceramic ball from Flytanium. It already had the Lynch clip. I had originally picked up the ball and cage for my G10 Cruwear, but I threw it in this one instead. The skinny scales always make a world of difference.

Saturday work carry

The scales I ordered should be here today, so I figured one last carry with the stock LW. Work goes even slower when you know you have cool new stuff to put on when you get home. What's everyone got in their pockets today?

I'm planning on picking up a set of micarta for my Sage 5. So, to anyone who has either the fingerprint or ripple patterns, how do you like them? Is the milling very deep? Can you post pics? Doesn't necessarily need to be micarta, any insight on those two patterns is appreciated.

Before I regularly started using the Manix 2 G10 clip from MXG on my G10 Native 5s, I usually used a right hand Para 3 clip from Lynch NW. And since I had a new one laying around, waiting for me to buy a Salt, I figured I'd throw it on until I order a clip from MXG. But, I forgot how much I like the Para 3 clip. I guess I'm still ordering another clip, but it will be for a Para 3 Salt instead. I think I'll keep the new Chief this way instead

Snagged this LNIB Chief on the secondary and am pretty stoked about it. First CTS-XHP for me. I think it will be great for work in the winter. The lock back has always been the easiest for me to use with heavy gloves on.

Still doing the one random knife per week, and it was good to get reacquainted with the Delica last week. It definitely wasn't getting the pocket time it should have been. Once this challenge is done, it will be added back to a spot in the regular rotation. I offloaded several knives last week that I knew wouldn't be making the cut, and that let me pick up some new knives. The Vosteed Psyop and the Stretch 2 XL are a couple of them. I chose the Stretch as my freebie carry yesterday and got jump start on the patina since it was slow at work. I'm really digging that bad boy and can't wait to put it to work. I revamped my list after getting rid of a few and adding some more. The random wheel chose the Vosteed for next week's carry, so that should be a good time. I'm anxious to get familiar with it and eventually adding it to the rotation. I think I'll be starting another wheel, which will have the new knives that haven't been carried yet, along with my newer knives that have only had 1 week of use. Like my Sage 5. I got it Christmas and have only carried it for the one week when it came up on the random wheel. This whole thing is a work in progress, but I think it's accomplishing the goal I set out for. Just need to make a few changes along the way

Gave the new K390 a jump start on the patina while it was slow at work today. Got home, and my clips from Lynch had showed up. I went with the sandwashed in anticipation that it might be close to however the patina ends up. I think it looks alright. Now, I'll let the patina form naturally. I give some of my tool steel knives a head start, and the others earn it all on their own. All depends on where and how I plan on using it

Getting some use in with the new Stretch 2 XL. I'm very quickly becoming a fan of the K390. What's everyone got in their pockets to kick off the weekend?

u/BeardedHeathen907 — 12 days ago

Pretty pumped about this one. New scales and clip should be here next week. I have one more knife on the way and it should be delivered tomorrow.

u/BeardedHeathen907 — 13 days ago

I'll try one more time now that I'm not out in the sticks at a jobsite. Finally got on the K390 train. Should have done it a lot sooner. Better late than never I guess

Snagged a Manbug to hang in the cabinet on my service truck that holds all of my hose, fuel line, etc. Welcome to the job, little fella.

u/BeardedHeathen907 — 16 days ago

I'll be rocking the Delica all week. It's been a bit since it's had much pocket time, I'm looking forward to it
