Hi, my wife has got roughly 1TB of photos on her iPhone and looking to transfer them through my PC to an external hard drive (2TB) the issue is that once it’s done there are left over files, with the images still in them, on her phone that can’t deleted as the “device isn’t recognised or has been unplugged”

Can anyone help please or know of a safe way to transfer/store images ?

P.S. I did mention just using the iCloud but money is a bit of an issue and we have lost photos to the cloud previously.
