My husband and I are stuck between two names. I am not necessarily in love with either. We would love some more ideas or support with our picks!
Context: Our last name ends in an O. He is Mexican and I am white (America Midwest). He doesn't have a middle name and I have a standard American Midwest 90s girl middle name.
He likes: Xochitl (pronounced so-cheel or so-chee)
I like: Luciana (nn either Lucia or Lucy)
Vibes: He doesn't like that his name is biblical and basic so doesn't want that for his kid. He also loves having a cool letter like X in the name. I am worried about setting up our baby girl with a name that people around us will have a hard time spelling and pronouncing (but also working through this issue because my husband pointed out people already mispronounce and spell our last name). I also love that Luciana has so many name versions she could go with.
Is Luciana Xochitl (insert last name) a good compromise or kind of a mouthful?
I would also love some more name suggestions.
It's our first kid and naming the kid seems so daunting!
