No, we don’t accept tips….

EDIT: I’m putting this here, I don’t care if *others* take tips. I’m not taking them. I was specifically told not to. There are cameras pointing at curbside and our store is heavily monitored. My job is not worth the $5. Regardless, this post is more about the attitude of people towards me as a retail worker and the level of disrespect I get.

I just need to rant for a second. I just got off my shift and I am so tired of how people genuinely treat me here.

Literally doing a handoff for a customer with Curbside. I see the money in his hand ready to go. Usually I tell people to just leave a good review for me and they accept. This time dude got angry.

“I saw online you accept tips”

“Nope, I was told I cannot.”

Then he drops it on the ground at my feet. So I walked away. Watched him struggle to grab it off the ground.

At the same time I was dealing with a 50 item order with someone who did 1ct banana. But under it said “one bunch.” To avoid issues (because fuck me if I do that handoff) I chatted back “I can do a bunch, you need to tell me how many bananas you want.”

“A bunch. Just a bunch.”

“Again, how many bananas do you want?”

“Idk like 5-6?” (Proceeds to message me multiple times this exact message)

“Sorry, I have to take the item off the order. You will have to add it back on with the exact number you want. The app will not let me move forward otherwise.”

They never added it back on….

I know I shouldn’t message customers but we have so many elderly people on the app that I feel bad if they can’t navigate it. But also how much more clearer do I have to be about instructions????
