Community Server Crash. VR LAN party. We took over a server.

Hey guys!

This is the 2nd VR LAN party with us hosting Forefront at a con, along with dozens of other games. Although, this go around, I set a community meetup time each day for attendees to join me in playing the game all at once on the same server. A few redditors came out to play too!

We had enough random folks at the event to show up at the same time and took over a completely empty server, instantly filling it with our own players.

One side of the room vs the other!

We squaded groups of friends and physically placed them next to each other for more cohesive team building and disabled in-game coms so its easier for us at the con to hear each other. Definitely fun to put this together.

Looking forward to replicating our meetup at Momocon Atlanta next weekend! I'll have 55 headsets and almost 8000 sqft of floor space.

Bring your own gunstock; I only have like 6 to borrow.

F2P VR LAN party in Atlanta. Playing Forefront and other cool games.

Hey guys.

In Atlanta for FWA this weekend. Just opened our VR freeplay gameroom and playing games from Forefront to Synth Riders. Just brought a few dozen headsets to play around. We are doing a community meetup at 7pm and taking over an East coast server.

If you see a bunch of Baz accounts, its us.

I'll be at Anime Central in Chicago next weekend, Momocon Atlanta the week after with Animazement Raleigh the same weekend.

Come out and play some VR with us!

Hey VR Redditors,

Part of the story of running the longest and largest F2P VR LAN operations for the past 8 years has been how our gaming community runs logistics like military clockwork on shoe string budgets; we tend to be extremely resourceful and solve everything ourselves.

At this point, I have managed over 150 VR LANs for cons and pulled in help from 83 VR studios in collaboration with dozens of events. I look at maximizing gaming potential based on logistics. That's been my biggest barrier; getting gear to a con and then staffing it. I operate in a fiduciary capacity on what makes the most sense for public enjoyment and be fiscally responsible.

Some events, like LVLUP Expo, I prep a pallet and ship all the gear, but LTL has extreme costs that have bloated 3x the past few years. Airlines have also weight restrictions and now li-ion battery rules are becoming a real issue this year. Flight costs have also risen this year. A few headsets ends up being ok, but a few dozen presents a lot of challenges.

Majority of events, we end up still driving the equipment ourselves from point to point. I tend to have more equipment than I can haul so we have to make decisions on what we leave behind. Gas prices recently has also shifted logistics to hauling less gear and using a smaller hybrid vehicle; but still servicing the same amount of folks. Just less flashy signs.

To date; we still operate independently from industry and still the only option for events. In the end, I'm happy to play games and share my hobby in a large scale that even Meta can't replicate.

This months LAN:

FWA, Atlanta (May 8-10)

Anime Central, Chicago (May 15-17)

Momocon, Atlanta (May 21-24)

Animazement, Raleigh (May 22-24)

As always, happy to answer questions and play VR games. The community always surprises me as we are all here to have fun.

Hey Redditors!

We had a blast with our community F2P VR LANs in Vegas at LVLUP Expo and KawaiiKon in Honolulu a week ago. About to replicate the same effort this month with 4 other events.

FWA, Atlanta (May 8-10)

Anime Central, Chicago (May 15-17)

Momocon, Atlanta (May 21-24)

Animazement, Raleigh (May 22-24)

Anyone coming out? I'll be playing one of my current favorite games, Forefront. Would be exciting to just take over a server.

If you had to pick one, come to Momocon. I'll have an 80x70 dedicated with dozens of headsets. Plenty of games and its still our #1 VR LAN in just metrics alone for the past 5 years. The show should hit 60k attendees this year and plenty of other cool stuff to see.

What game would you like to see and play at a con?

I'm running a community VR LAN setup at KawaiiKon in Hawaii this weekend. Always love seeing Helldivers cosplayers at any show and tend to get them to play some VR.

The game they were playing was Laser Limbo as a simple and easy Arena MR shooter gaming with the co-op game mode shooting robots.

Thanks to Triangle Factory, our VR gaming community VR Villa is at LVLUP Expo right now playing Fore Front in 5000 sqft as a VR LAN party. Last day is today and we have 45 headsets to game with. Perhaps some of you guys are around to check it out.

Pretty exciting to do for launch weekend!

Hey guys,

Running community VR LANs at LVLUP Expo in Vegas and KawaiiKon in Honolulu this weekend. Last day of the cons and been having a blast playing Forefront and dozens of other games.

Funny enough, Vacation Simulator has been hitting hard in Hawaii for the lolz factor.

I'm at Hawaii while my other team is still in Vegas. Come out and say hi!
