Hi, non-server here but wanting to know if I'm making your job easier or harder with this request.

When I go out to dinner with friends I often ask the server to split the bill evenly, regardless of who got what. I started doing this because in my mind it's easier and less work for you guys because that way you don't need to remember who got what and assign specific drinks & dishes to specific people.

Am I right? Am I being a nice customer or is this actually secretly way more annoying?
