Amicable split talk feels like a trap
My wife asked for a separation about three weeks ago. I finally told her that I just want to divorce because she has been dating and sleeping with another guy already, during the time she needed to "figure out what she wants". When I told her I was going to move forward with divorce she immediately said she wanted to do it amicably without the expense of attorneys. She wanted to only use a mediator, or to use an online service to file and move on. I love the idea of doing this cheaply but I need to make sure the car gets refinanced in her name only or sold, and that the house she said I can keep is adjusted so it's just my name on the mortgage. Anyone else's ex tried to take them down this path?
