Look at more than the # on the scale!

I like data. I don’t care what the 3-month supply costs - I want to know what the per mg cost is! I want to know calories IN but I also want to know calories OUT.

Anyway, this is just a reminder that if you’re only looking at the number on the scale, you don’t have a good picture of what’s happening. I have a scale that I’ve had for years that tracks weight and a bunch of other body composition measurements like body fat%, visceral fat, subcutaneous fat, skeletal muscle, muscle mass, etc. These scales aren’t crazy expensive. I’m not sure how ACCURATE it is, but the data over TIME is what I watch. Is my body fat percentage going down? Is my muscle mass going up? I track it in a spreadsheet on a monthly basis, but even reviewing it between those “official” logs helps because I can see in numbers that my body is changing, even if the scale is slow.

Slow and steady wins the race! I hope everyone has a great week!!

Rift Order and Impressions

I did an order through Rift on 5/3/26. New patient intake form. All went well and seemed pretty straightforward. I selected Boudreaux's for the pharmacy because I want to try Glycerine as an additive. All communication with Rift was quick and efficient. Doc messaged through portal during the week. I received updates from Rift throughout the process to indicate sent to pharmacy and then all shipping updates*.

*Rift has posted on their sub that they encourage patients to sign up for shipper updates from USPS, UPS, and FedEx - which I had already - as they have been having trouble with the connect between the pharmacy shipping updates and their site. I got several timely updates on shipping directly through Rift, so I did not experience any disconnect there.

Delivery was today. (That's 5 days from intake to at my door) Package was delivered by UPS. Package in great condition. Outer mailer with a silver cold mailer inside that has the ice packs and meds. The supplies are in the two white envelopes. Literature included, one of which is the best enclosure I've seen thus far. It explains how to give yourself the shot with easy to follow step-by-step instructions and links for more help.

Things that I track about my orders -

  • Days from initial contact to delivery - 5
  • BUD 7/13/2026
  • Price per mg - $2.66
  • Communication with provider - excellent

I will use up my Align with B3 before opening one of these. Interested to see if I notice any difference in the Glycine. Right now I don't think the B3 is changing anything for the better or worse. Feels the same as the 2.5mg Mounj. pens my doctor gave me.

TLDR - Rift experience with Boudreaux's pharmacy great. No complaints.

When I updated my app this morning I was prompted to update. Wowweeee!! I love the improvements in the weekly report! And being able to have colors in the dosage is cool....color makes me happy, and those weeks at 2.5mg in the color that cannot be named was a bummer. Ha ha. Now they're GREEN, because green means GO! Love it - keep up the great work Glapp folks! I love this app and the information that I can get from it. Like all things, the more you put IN, the more you get out of it!

Today is the start of my 6th week. I have five weeks of experience behind me. Here's my biggest Ah-Ha moment....

The medication makes it possible for me to eat well while I exercise in order to become healthier.

The medication isn't a fix-all. I could easily just eat barely anything and drop weight like crazy and lose a lot of muscle. I'd probably lose some hair and my skin would get saggy.

BUT - I'm using the medication as ONE TOOL in this journey. The medication quiets or eliminates the obsessing about food and turns food into something that I need in order to live - not something I live to have.

I'm pretty sure at first I was just not eating enough - because I simply didn't want to. As I learned and got more information (even though my primary care doc told me about 10 times to make sure I focused on protein and to get 100g per day minimum) I started tracking my food because at NO TIME in my entire life have I been even remotely fine with eating so little. Honestly, I didn't know what a normal portion size was.

Tracking helps that. Now I'm able to find meals that give me between 25-30g of protein. I'm starting to know naturally what that looks like, but the tracking helps me be sure until it's totally natural. I also saw that I was not having many carbs, so I've been adding in some different complex carbs with meals to balance out my nutrition.

Maybe the nutrition thing comes easy for some of y'all, but it has NOT been so for me!

Tracking my shots and any symptoms/side effects on Glapp has been super helpful also because I can see what's going on with my body and show that data to my primary doc when we meet. I have a body comp scale at home, so I'm able to track the changes in not only weight, but also body fat, subcutaneous fat, muscle mass, and visceral fat. I'm trying to focus on slow, steady FAT loss with minimal muscle loss. Consistent strength training and protein help me stay on top of that.

We will see posts all around with people dropping crazy amounts of weight in short time periods. Just remember that each person is different and in order to succeed, it's important to be intentional about the entire journey and see the medication as ONE TOOL that we can rely on.

Overall I'm really happy with my first five weeks and look forward to feeling in control of staying on track and keeping my body in a healthy state while losing fat.

Thanks to everyone on here who provides information, experiential wisdom, and encouragement. It's really appreciated!

I have a nice treadmill and once I decided I was going to start this journey on 4/1, one of my goals was to walk for at least 20 minutes 3 times a week. I was going along pretty well, and even getting more than 3x/wk.

Then the belt on my treadmill started to shred. ARGH. So, I found a place to fix it, ordered the belt, and scheduled the repair. My hubs met the repair guy while I was on a gals trip. I got home Tuesday night so Wednesday was my first chance to get back on it.

Fifteen minutes in, whomp wahhhh....it died. Got an error message for loss of signal. Called the guy today who did the repair and he suggested the speed sensor, which is what I thought after doing some internet sleuthing, but I'm no handy Manny! The repair place is an hour from us, so for the belt I paid him for 2 hours drive time. He told me where to locate the screws to take the front cover off and sent me a picture of what the speed sensor MIGHT look like.

I opened 'er up tonight and after trying many things, I finally took another panel off to get access to this tiny little cylinder and popped it into what looked like a holder for that cylinder and VOILA baby....we're back in business!

I'm so happy! Ha ha - I was sitting down there trying to figure out what these parts are and thinking maybe I just need to buy a new treadmill and call it a day. I've had this treadmill for probably 15 years (it's a commercial grade one) and I love it! It's so sturdy and reliable (until it wasn't) and now it's up and running again.

So, that's what's making me happy tonight!

I finished the sample shots from my pcp, so today was my first dose from the compounded meds I’ve ordered. I decided to start with a 3ml vial of 10mg/ml from Align (ordered through Gimme) that has B3. I had done 4 shots at 2.5mg in the weeks before this.

Today I did a 3mg shot. My weight loss to date is a little over 8 pounds. I also had a vacation during this time period. Feeling pretty good about the process thus far.

I log my shots in Glapp so I’ll be monitoring any symptoms and see if things are any different with the B3 added.

Have a great day everyone!

I feel like the past few weeks have been really discouraging here on the ole GLP Reddit subs, with Pro Rx and BPI news and everyone panicking that compounding is coming to an end.

I am going to try and stay off here for a few days for my own sanity and focus on getting some exercise, eating right, and enjoying the feelings that tirz gives me.

I wish each of you a great weekend and hope that you’re able to take care of yourself!
