My husband's birthday is next Tuesday, and he didn't want to do anything upscale or structured - just hang in the East Village and jump around eating and drinking. There will be about 8 of us.

What are some spots where we can stroll in for drinks and get good apps/shareables that go beyond the typical sliders, nachos, and wings? What are some grab-and-go places where we can sit for 10 min or that serve food which would allow for us to stand outside or eat while we walk?
