I’m 24, happily married, work full time at a fish camp, have a GSD and a Siamese, and love photography, ama

Took a gummy and I don’t work until 1pm tomorrow so figured an ama could be fun. Listed some highlights in the title. I also met my husband via online video games and moved 900 miles to be with him. We want to start our own fishing charter sometime next spring with my on board photography being our niche.

Before/After

I missed some wires/lines in edited that I’ve gotta go back and clean up, but overall I’m quite happy with how this turned out.

Before/After

I took my camera to work today to take some pictures of our “pet” pelicans and of course it was gross all day today (should’ve checked the weather)

I was still able to get some decent shots, this one being one of my better ones of the day.

Before/After

Normally I don’t enjoy shooting indoors or still subjects, but I’d noticed the highlights from the light coming in the window on her and couldn’t resist.

Before/After

My niche hobby is fishing photography, which I got into a little over a year ago when I decided to take my camera out on my husband and I’s boat. Since then, it’s been a permanent addition to our trips out and we’ve started having friends ask to come with us just to get action pictures.

If you saw the first post, this was my other version. I wasn’t a fan of lighting on the pelicans in this version, Id wanted them to be more focal than they are here. The sky however is much more where I wanted it to be than the previous.

A few people mentioned my crop in the og post as well, whenever I get home from work today I’m going to play with a V. 3, and crop it less. Personally, for this image at least, I liked the zoomed/close cropped look for it.

For my next go at this one, I want to have the pelicans touched up like V. 1 but the sky how it is in V. 2. As well, not quite so cropped.

If you didn’t see the first, I’ve included V. 1 as well (last).

I absolutely love this photo, although I’m not 100% sold on my first editing job. What do y’all think?

I need to upgrade my pc, as this was what I saved on after photoshop crashed 3 other times editing this pic lol

Trying to get tired for work tomorrow, my last of 3(Fri-Sun), shifts (6:30-5), until Thursday. The camp itself has Rv spots, motel rooms, cabins, and park models to stay at. They also offer charters, boat storage, and of course, the bait shop (aka check in, aka office). Built right into a dock on the water.

When my husband and I aren’t working, we go out fishing, mostly for redfish. I started taking my camera about a year ago and never stopped. I’ve gotten some of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken out there, reignited my passion for it, and got me to upgrade from my first camera I bought myself at 14.

Just for fun bc I like sharing it (and I ate a gummy to help me sleep lol) My husband and I originally met playing online video games in 2022 lol.

Took some of my new favorite pelican shots today while out fishing with my husband. I started taking my camera out with us last year, and I love everything about using it out on the water. However, pelicans are a personal favorite of mine. They’re always so photogenic.

It used to be at 18 you were an adult, it was an accomplishment. Now I see 30y/o’s essentially bragging online about not being able to function and they’re “still a teenager.” I noticed this starting around the same time as the wildly misused 25 brain development study.

It takes genuinely one Google search to debunk that “study.” No one cares to do their own research on anything anymore, so this has been spread as gospel for YEARS. This post is prompted by the newest brain rot 10th dentist about how 20-24y/o’s shouldn’t be held fully accountable for their actions, instead their parents should. Are we actually serious right now?

This has resulted in people of that age range not even trying to grow or mature because they genuinely believe that’s some magical thing that happens at 25. I was a manager over mostly 20-22 year olds at one point and at only 24, I was flabbergasted at the fact none of them had been expected to grow up *at all.* Most of them had no idea how to even count money.

I’m not saying we should go back to the “old days” and expect 18y/o’s to move out the second they turn 18. I do however think this mindset of having expectations for young adults set to that of children is absolutely having an at large effect on society. Mid 70’s to low 80’s is the average lifespan in the US. We’re seriously saying until you’re 25-30+ you can’t make decisions, or know what you want?

I’ll end this with any adult over 50 I’ve ever gotten into deeper conversations with, has always agreed on, you never actually know. We’re all just doing the best we can we what we have and what we know at the time. Stop placing arbitrary ages (based on misused information) on when you or others are allowed to live their one, not very long, life on this earth.
