So today I came into work at (food service job). my coworker, who technically is "below" me in rank, was supposed to get all of our food widgets prepared for the evening. it wasn't busy at all. we get an order for delivery, and the widgets aren't prepared, therefore we can't send out the order in time. she is loudly yapping on facetime with her friends and eating chipotle. while i am doing my tasks to get ready for the shift, she dips out to the front lobby to eat her food and loudly yap more. she is definitely not on her lunch break, because we typically don't have lunch breaks (you eat when you can, and the shifts are short). customers come in and she ignores them completely. meanwhile, the place is a mess and the order gets delayed 15 mins while i prepare more widgets. all of this is compounded by the fact that she is also hogging the computer chair that the supervisor usually sits in. this is less of a superiority/rank issue and more of a practical one, because I am the one who has to assign the orders, she can't. so i need to be at that computer for paperwork as well. she sets up her laptop, tablet, and TWO phones which blocks this tiny desk. and she does this every time. if you get up from the chair, she will snatch it from you.
also, 90% sure she is friends with our manager. Like, friends before she got hired.
wtf do i do, i need the job!
