POV: you need usable geotechnical data from a PDF scanned in 1997
Building a tool for digitizing old geotechnical borelogs made me realize one thing:
engineers have absolutely no common handwriting standard 😭
Some of these scanned PDFs look ancient but firms still depend on the data inside them every day.
