Honest question for this sub: are dating apps actually helping us find the right person, or just keeping us busy?

I have been thinking a lot about modern dating lately and wanted to get this community’s take. It feels like we have more access to potential partners than any generation before us, but I am not sure the experience is actually better. Curious whether others feel the same or see it differently.

Three things I would love to hear your thoughts on:

First, what do you think are the biggest problems with dating apps and modern dating in general? I am interested in the structural stuff (how the apps are designed, incentives, etc.) as well as the day-to-day frustrations.

Second, do you think it is genuinely easier or harder now to meet the right person compared to ten or twenty years ago, and why? I can see arguments both ways and I am curious where people land.

Third, if you could change one thing about how people meet today, online or offline, what would it be? One realistic change, not a fantasy reset.

Looking forward to reading what people think. Personal stories welcome.
