This is what $12,244 in damage looks like
Some dumbass rear-ended my 2022 Forester a few weeks ago. The final repair bill for this is over $12k and it’s going to take 5 weeks to get it fixed. Thankfully it’s 100% covered by the other driver. But yikes!
UPDATE: thanks for all the comments. Here’s a few more details: It’s being repaired at a well regarded independent shop
They have to replace the rear sensors and the blind spot monitoring sensors plus the wiring, which was damaged
And there is light frame damage too
I will be seeking a diminished value claim against the other driver’s insurance
Finally, shout out to my insurance company Amica, they’ve been awesome thought this process. And thank god I don’t have to pay for any of this
