Back in February my wife wanted to buy a new car and said to me “I don’t care to work the OT to pay for it”. She is a nurse at our local hospital, and works 3- 12 hour shifts a week. I told her that if she works 1 extra day a week that will give us the funds we need to pay our bills and have extra money to do things and save. For the past month she only worked 1 overtime day, and I asked her yesterday if she could start working that one extra day a week again. She gets extremely mad at me and refuses to talk to me now. I understand that being a nurse is an extremely difficult job, and I wish I could do more but my job does not allow me any OT. Am I in the wrong for asking this? What should I do to mend this mess.
Edit: we did buy the car back in February with the agreement that OT would be worked for the payment and extra insurance, because we gifted our son her other car.
