I am wondering how many others would want or need a service that would help them with the items on their "mental load" list..?
Hello all, long time reader, first time poster to 2XChromosomes.
I have a bit of a struggle that I figure most others in my position do as well.
For context, I am a single mom, employed with 2 teen-ish (the older is slightly out of teen range but in college so still dependent) children.
I struggle with the mental load, and outsourcing/getting help.
What I mean is- I have numerous things I need help with around the house, from yard work to pet care to cleaning.
I find it so frustrating to have to contract different companies for different things.
I have a dog- walker
I have a guy that does lawn care (ok mowing only pretty much but no yard clean-up really)
I have a house cleaning service.
But I cannot find someone who will do all of the above (and more...like feeding the pets, cleaning up after them). Basically all things that are part of my "mental load"
I guess my question is - do you feel like this would be a valuable service model?
What pitfalls do you all see with this?
And what other things plague you as part of the "mental load" of things that you struggle to get help with ?
Just curious if is a "just me" thing or if its widespread.
