Wyrmskull Hardcore Playtest

The Wyrmskull project is officially entering its public playtest phase. Built on the AzerothCore 3.3.5a branch, our goal is to provide a stable, high-performance Wrath of the Lich King environment while introducing unique, carefully integrated custom content.

We are looking for players to help us stress-test the core world and provide feedback on our primary development focus: the Aspect class.

Schedule

The playtest will run during the following window:
* Start Date: May 16th, 2026
* End Date: May 23rd, 2026

Playtest Focus: The Aspect Class

The Aspect is a fully custom class designed for the Wyrmskull ecosystem. Because this class introduces new mechanics to the 3.3.5a engine, we need active testers to help us evaluate:

* Combat Balance: Tuning damage output, threat generation, and healing throughput.
* Talent Synergy: Identifying broken combinations or underperforming talent nodes.
* Resource Logic: Ensuring class-specific resources and cooldowns function correctly in encounters.
* Visual Integrity: Reporting any issues with custom spell animations or UI elements.

General Technical Goals

Outside of class testing, we are monitoring the foundation of the server:

* Core Stability: Identifying any memory leaks or crash triggers within the C++ hooks.
* Scripting: Verifying boss AI, quest triggers, and world events.
* Latency & Load: Testing the database response time under a growing player population.

How to Participate

  1. Join the Discord: https://discord.com/invite/x2wdJWUWah
  2. Navigate to #server-info, where our website address will appear, closer to the playtest start date
  3. Register on the site, which your website login info will transfer to the client

Reporting Issues

To keep development organized, we utilize a structured #bug-reports forum channel in our Discord. If you encounter a bug, please check the forum to see if it has been reported, or create a new post with your character information and steps to reproduce the issue.

Today's "Odd Tank" is the 🇺🇸 American 'MBT(MR) Test Rig 5'

Built in the 1960's, the MBT(MR) was actually a program to replace the M60, no hulls were constructed, but various other hulls were used as test rigs for the turrets. Test Rig 5 was based on a M60 hull and the turret had a driver's position inside of it similar to the MBT-70, though the original driver's position remained as a backup. This development would lead to the creation of the M60A2 Starship.

The armament consists of a 152mm Gun-Launcher XM81E6 and what appears to be a 20mm Hispano-Suiza HS.820 autocannon.

Today’s “Odd Tank” is the 🇬🇧 British ‘A/T 1’

Built during WW2, this Amphibious tank constructed from a new hull with the turret from the Cruiser Mk.5 Covenanter. The amphibious tank did not perform well and was later scrapped with at least 4 known examples being built.

The primary armament is the Ordnance QF 2-pounder 40mm gun.
The A/T 1 could manage a top speed of 8km/h in water and 16km/h on land.
