Hi all

My 17 year old daughter is looking to learn to drive this year. We currently have a 3 year old BMW 1 series that is fairly fast accelerating and I’m concerned the insurance may be too much plus we have a big SUV as a family car so don’t need the extra space. We’re looking to swap it with something smaller like a Renault 5 for a day to day runabout. Does anyone have any experience with insurance costs on a new EV both for a learner and named driver?
