I'm on a windows 11 pc and while I had just opened up a new writer document I saw that there was a newer version so I went through the regular, not customised download path and after finishing it opened to a blank file edit menu page and then closed a split second later.

I then tried to use the repair function with no luck and tried to download the older version and the same thing happened. I've tried to open both versions through the shortcut, file explorer and using a odt document. I also tried restarting and shutting down multiple times.

If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.
