Recruiters, PSA:

Don’t call candidates and gas them up thinking they have a shot at a role even after you tell them they are already in the later stages of interviews for the role and already have finalist candidates.

The job market is already tough but calling candidates just to check boxes and make you look busy is a waste of time and gives people false hope.
