I'm struggling to understand the correct process in order to change my name.

I first got the spouse visa December 2024. When we married, I did not change my name to keep the application simple. However, I would like to change my name soon before we apply for the renewal next year.

My plan is to change my name first in my country of origin, once the name is approved go through passport renewal process with my embassy and then update home office of the name change once I receive my new passport with the name change. This will be a change to my first name and my husband's last name. Is this the correct process, am I missing anything?
