Hi I’m really in the mood for salmon nigiri. Just salmon nigiri. I live in an area with a singular Asian market 30 min away, and I don’t love the idea of buying sashimi from the again SINGULAR Japanese restaurant near me at probably 4x up charge or an assortment of nigiri. I just want salmon nigiri. Be real with me, can I use Walmart salmon for nigiri at home or is that probably not safe? The label for the one I’m thinking of getting says BAP certified and farm raised, which my research says for sushi farm raised is what you want to use. And I assume from where I live it would have been frozen. Is that the standard I should look for? If it says “not for raw consumption”(in the USA) is that just something they have to put on the label because of regulations? Or is that an actual warning that it is actually not safe to eat raw?
