I posted earlier about wanting an alternate ending where the Buttons take home the championship. It makes complete sense why they wouldn’t do that in season one, so we can spend more time with the team as they continue to pursue that goal.

what I don’t understand is how Sammy Davis Senior junior college managed to place higher than the Buttons. SDSJC fumbled pretty badly at the end of their routine, while the Buttons executed flawlessly. we didn’t get to see Tri-City perform, but we can presume their performance was worthy of first place. but the buttons coming in third feels disingenuous. We should have seen them beat their rivals SDSJC even if they didn’t take home the championship - they objectively delivered the better performance.

I hope Netflix picks the series up in the same way they did for girls5eva after NBC canceled that. that would be my dream scenario.

If the show is truly done for, I would so love an alternate ending to Daytona where they take home first place and we can get that happy ending we deserve.
