Cosmic Byte Blitz Tri Mode Review / Ask me anything / Related Info
There aren't many reviews of the updated Cosmic Byte Blitz Tri Mode so here goes.
Also this is my first controller so please do correct me in anything that may be wrong.
I purchased this for 1799 on amazon(not on any sale), it was actuallly cheaper on the CB website with the coupon but I read online that their customer support isn't great and may cause problem in replacement if you receive a faulty unit, better be safe with Amazon replacement policy.
There isn't much difference between the previous and updated model so I only will be talking about updated features and some things I wanna tell. For most part of the controller, I recommend watching Venom's Tech review video of the previous model as all the things are exactly same between the previous and updated model aside from the added features-
- Bluetooth connectivity
- TMR Joysticks
- Macro Programming(refer manual)
- Gyro
- Software Support
I also recommend refering to the online manual avaliable on the CB website as it is more detailed and has info about the gyro mode which isn't avaliable in the manual that came with the box.
Review:
Polling Rate: For Wired and 2.4GHz dongle - 1000Hz
For Bluetooth - 500 Hz
(tested via Gamepadla)
Gyro: Gyro works fine with no issue.
However you can use gyro by 2 methods-
- By using Gyro Mode which is only supported in Bluetooth. This only works in games with native gyro support, it won't work in every game.
Quick Tips - When you use this mode, Steam recognizes it as a Nintendo Switch controller and therefore swaps ABXY as default, so make sure to disable this in controller settings.
Your Controller when using Bluetooth mode and Gyro mode will appear as separate devices in the bluetooth pairing page when you pair it with any device.
- You can force gyro to run in unsupported games via Wired or 2.4 GHz dongle mode by enabling it in the controller's software. You can either set it to ON or OFF, or you can set a button to enable it whenever you press that specific button.
TMR Joysticks: Avg error for both sticks: 0%
But the controller's software limits the sticks inital range to prevent stick drift so after installing software your Avg error becomes 1.4% for both sticks. To get 0% you have to manually adjust initial stick range to 0 in the software.
Some additional Info:
Make sure to update the controller's firware through software via wired mode to get 1000Hz polling rate and 0% error in sticks. For me, their was an issue and I couldn't update firmware through my main laptop so I had to install software in my other laptop and update it their.
Also for general queries you can chat with Cosmic Byte AI support about the controller, I think it had decent knowledge based on the questions I asked.

I know this sub likes foreign brand controllers a lot but the feature set of the controller at this price point in pretty good in my opinion, I could not comment on customer service and device longevity tho only time will tell.
