So recently, my 1.5-year-old Boston has developed a fear of walking our usual route around the neighbourhood. She stops and pulls towards home, breathing heavily, with her whole hindquarters shaking like crazy.

It has made walking her a massive headache, especially because she isn’t our only dog. Not even two weeks ago, we could walk without issues, but now we take two steps and she starts shaking like mad.

Going on hikes isn’t a problem at all, and walking to the car is fine, but going past the car has suddenly become scary. I’m really at a loss here. I’ve tried rewarding every step she takes, changing her harness and lead, and sitting down next to her to comfort her.

I am open to any and all suggestions so we can go back to walking without fear.
