Hi,
I own a Suzuki Swift Sport ZC32S (140,000 km) and I’ve noticed that the engine is quite noisy during cold starts.
Symptoms:
- A metallic ticking noise at cold start
- The noise lasts from a few seconds up to about 2 minutes
- Once the engine is warm, or after about 1 minute of driving, the noise completely disappears
- The engine runs perfectly: no misfires, stable idle, good performance
Context:
- The issue mainly occurs when the car has been sitting for a while (overnight or 1–2 days)
- More noticeable in cold weather
- Oil level is OK (Motul 5W30), oil change done 2,000 km ago
I’m also providing a second video with the engine warm (hood open) for comparison.
What do you think?
In the first video, the temperature is around 7–8°C and the car hadn’t been driven all weekend.
Thanks!
