I (31M) have paid taxes since 18, and have never gotten a tax return.

I make under 20K each year, and even have an extra $50 withheld from each paycheck in hopes of not owing the IRS after taxes. Every year I owe.

This year it’s actually gone up to owing $400 and I’m truly at a loss for words.

I was raised in a secluded community and never learned much about how taxes work, and it’s extremely confusing to me…but something has to be wrong here right? I have no children, own no property or assets, and have nothing in savings.

Please, How can I make this stop I genuinely can’t afford it.
