Portable AC Not Cooling

I recently upgraded from a single hose Della 14,000 BTU to a Whynter dual hose 14,000 BTU hoping that it would cool my room more effectively. It worked like a charm during the winter, but now that temperatures are getting in the 80s and 90s, I find myself waking up at the late hours of the night uncomfortable and sweating.

The AC suddenly jumped up to 65-66 instead of 60 which is what I have it set to. I know that’s a reasonable temperature range for most people, but I have issues with temperature regulation.

I tried the “follow me” mode which uses a separate thermometer on the remote, and nothing changed. I’ve drained it of any water almost daily, clean the filter every other week, and it’s well sealed with foam. Am I missing something, or is this unit just not great? Any help would be much appreciated!

The AC suddenly jumped up to 65-66F instead of 60 which is what I have it set to. I know that sounds reasonably cold, but I have temperature regulation issues that makes anything above 60F a nightmare.

I tried the “follow me” mode which uses a separate thermometer on the remote, and nothing changed. I’ve repeatedly drained it of any water and clean the filter every other week, and it’s well sealed with foam. Am I missing something, or is this unit just not great?
