Has anyone here managed to avoid the need for a stroller into toddlerhood? Or just use only minimally? I would love to hear your experiences.

My partner and I exclusively babywear and have done so since our baby was born 8 months ago. We live in a top floor apartment with no elevator or ground floor stroller parking area, and use public transit. We are not particularly interested in ever buying/using a stroller if possible, but will do so if circumstances demand it. LO is getting bigger and heavier, so I want to start practicing new carries and perhaps buy a new carrier (or face the music and deal with the annoyance of a stroller).

Our current setup:

- woven wrap size 6 - partner’s base size, he uses this for FWCC which he is happy with

- woven wrap size 5 - my base size; these days I usually do inside out coolest hip CC, though this is sometimes more of a carry assist with our little leaner; partner also sometimes uses this for FWCC TUB

- ring sling - I use this when I‘m doing chores at home

I can manage carrying my kiddo comfortably for about an hour (usually a hip carry), but my max carry time is decreasing quickly as he gains weight. I want to start back carrying to manage the weight better. I‘m currently on the step of practicing the superman move in back carry boot camp and attempted a secure high back carry once. I‘m considering buying another woven wrap in size 3 or 4 as I’ve heard a lot of people here say that they find shorter wraps useful. A SSC could be an alternative, but I think it would be unlikely to find something that works well for both me (155cm) and my partner (190cm).

What would you do in my shoes? Do you have an suggestions for transitioning to back carrying? Do you think buying a shorter woven wrap is the right move or should I consider e.g. a SSC? Is it delusional to forge ahead with no stroller at this point?
