Goodbye Our Boy
This is Nimbus, our 8 year old dachshund. Our first baby. He left us and this world on Friday 5/8. We are devastated and heart broken.
I am here to see if anyone has thoughts as we will never get closure on what happened to him.
Friday morning, he had a little diarrhea. We took him outside when it looked like he wasn’t feeling well, he pooped, and then lied down in the grass. Every few minutes, he would stand and shakily move to a new sun spot.
We knew something was not right. He was not responding to his name, and his gums were pale. He was not in any pain seemingly as I pressed his tummy with no reaction.
We drove to MedVet. They took him back for vitals. His temperature was slightly low. They stated they would do blood work and a blood pressure. We waited in the lobby. They called us back after an hour, at which point they stated they were doing CPR. He had crashed suddenly.
They brought him back long enough for us to guide us home and tell him how truly loved he was. How he changed us and made us better. And then he was gone.
The vet stated there was a little blood in the fluid in his abdomen, a suspected ruptured tumor.
Has anyone has this experience or anything of the sort? We are shocked. And just terribly, terribly sad.
Rest peacefully, our good boy.
