2010 VW Jetta MK5 SEL.

I installed a new ignition cylinder (came with a new switch) and my car wont turn on. The keys can still lock and unlock the car.

When I turn the key it wont give me the usual ringing sound that my key is detected and in the on position.

I've checked both fuse boxes and I have no bad fuses.

I'm thinking either an electrical harness connector came loose or it's the new switch. Im going to try taking it out again tomorrow and see if I can get it working, if not ill have to find a mobile mechanic that's willing to troubleshoot the issue. The car battery is not dead. Is there anything else I should look for or be mindful of?

I followed the YT videos online and I have no lights on my dash, nothing happens. The key turns all the way. My keys can lock and unlock the car.

When I insert the key and turn it doesn't give me the usual ringing tone that I'm turning that notifies me the car is in the on position.

I checked both fuse boxes and the fuses related to the ignition and they're all fine.

Last thing ill do is take it out again and double check the wiring harnesses on the cylinder are fully connected. If not I'll have to call a mobile mechanic to figure it out.
