Bitetoy PSA - Kept my returned items and refused refund
I want to share my experience with TikTok Shop merchant Bitetoy so others can make an informed decision before purchasing from them.
I ordered a set of Hello Kitty Labubus from Bitetoy and when they arrived, the boxes were all damaged. The outer shipping box was completely intact, which means the items were packed in a damaged state and sent that way knowingly. They’re too light to “crush” each other in a cardboard box. This was not a shipping issue.
When I contacted Bitetoy to let them know (I had filmed an unboxing video in addition to photos etc), I was initially told that damaged packaging was not their responsibility and that I needed to keep the items as-is. Maybe not everyone cares about packaging, but at $40 each - these should arrive without damage. They eventually agreed to accept a return and issue a refund, but only on the condition that I list “no longer wanted” as the return reason rather than the actual reason, which was damaged items.
I complied, returned the items through TikTok’s return process with tracking, and confirmed delivery. Bitetoy then refused to issue the refund saying that they were damaged. They kept the returned items and kept the payment.
Yes, I can just do a chargeback and recover my money that way. That’s not really the point. The point is that Bitetoy knowingly sent damaged goods, manipulated the return process, and then kept the items without issuing a refund. That’s the behavior of a shady reseller, not a legitimate business.
I wouldn’t recommend buying from them and I hope this saves someone else the hassle.
