I love Nintendo, and I love retro games. I thought N64 was my favorite console because some of my friends had one, and I never owned it myself. I LOVED playing it at their house. But now that I have it, I realize that all it has really got is Zelda and Mario. Everything else plays really badly imo. So after finishing Mario 64, Pokemon Snap and playing the Pokemon Stadium 1/2 minigames to death, I'm out of things to do with it.

But I'm a 96 kid. PS2 and GameCube was my era. So I've ordered everything I need to make my DOL-001 slick and ready. But as a kid, I only owned Mario Kart and Melee. Which means there is absolutely no nostalgia for me when playing Sunshine or any Mario title, any Zelda game, Pokemon Colosseum/XD, Metroid. It will be a 100% fresh playthrough. And sad as it is, my playtime on the Zelda serious my entire life is about 2 hours total. I did main Link in Melee though.

My question: are the games (really fucking) good on their own, without the nostalgia? This is not a critique post. It's just a discussion, and I wanna hear some fellow GameCube fans speak from their heart what they love about their games.

Do games support the use of multiple Game Boys connected at once? If yes, which ones?

Could I for example connect two Game Boys and battle against each other in Colosseum with the Pokemon we have in our cartridge?

Or trade between cartridges this way.
