Hi all. I called Mohela today with a question about loans that I had just taken private (not waiting on a new PSLF 10-year term again) and I also asked about being put in general forbearance for my remaining loans that I’m awaiting a buyback offer on (submitted Jan 2026). My buyback request is mostly due to SAVE forbearance.

The rep didn’t ask me about any reason for seeking forbearance or anything about how many months of forbearance I could receive because she simply said I cannot be switched into general forbearance while on SAVE forbearance. She said I’d have to wait until after I receive the July 1 letter telling me to start repaying, etc., to seek either repayment or some forbearance option at that time.

Just wanted to give a heads up to others. And if anyone has been told something different, please share that.

Finally, I did a quick search and didn’t see any posts on this exact topic, but if this has been raised before, apologies for the redundant post.

Hi all. I’m looking to move my family to a new city in less than a year. By then, it will be my husband, my 4 year old, a 4 month old, and me.

I’m looking for experiences from families who have lived in apartment buildings without an in-unit washer and dryer (I.e., they are located on the same floor as the apartment).

I know it will be a pain. Dirty sheets may have to sit for a day or so until I get a chance to wash them.

But some units are like $500/mo less than comparable ones with in-unit facilities.

Is it really that bad? (I’m leaning toward yes, but looking for a glimmer of hope).

Thanks!
