TAXIBOX transit cover claim for damaged TV after interstate move. Any chance of success?
I recently moved from Melbourne to Brisbane using TAXIBOX and purchased both Protect+ and Transit Cover.
I transported a Sony X85J 55” TV in its original Sony box with the original foam inserts. The TV was working before the move.
After unpacking and setting up my apartment, I powered it on and discovered severe internal screen damage. The TV powers on, but the display is damaged with lines/black areas across the screen. There is no obvious shattered outer glass.
I’ve already contacted TAXIBOX and sent:
Photos of the damage
Photos of the original packaging/foam
Proof of purchase
Proof that Transit Cover was purchased
One issue is that I didn’t unpack the TV immediately after delivery because I was waiting for my TV unit/furniture setup, so there was a delay before discovering the issue.
I’ve read the Protect+ terms and noticed exclusions around electronic breakdown unless there is evidence of external physical damage, and exclusions for improper packing/loading.
Has anyone had experience with TAXIBOX claims, especially for electronics/TVs? Do these kinds of transit damage claims usually get approved, partially paid, or denied?
Just trying to understand what to realistically expect.
