Hello everyone. For starters, I’m a high school student who has worked at McDonalds for almost six months, and honestly it isn’t my favorite job to say the least. Mixing stressful college classes and the demanding environment of McDonald’s isn’t so satisfying. Even though I’m almost 6 months through, I can’t imagine doing it for a year, and I want to find if I should switch to another place like a grocery store. Another reason I want to switch is because I’m taking college classes during the summer, and if I worked mornings at McDonald’s I would wake up at 4 and go to bed at 10. Basically, it wouldn’t fit my schedule well (which sounds stupid since it’s McDonald’s). Should I switch jobs even with just a few months experience? Let’s say I did switch jobs. How would I tell my manager I quit? What do I have to tell them and what can I reserve to myself? I want to leave a two weeks notice because even though I don’t care about McDonalds, I care about the people who work there. I’m just worried about what they will say and the awkwardness of the last two weeks. Also, if I’m being interviewed by someone, how will it work knowing that I am currently employed? Does that increase or decrease the likelihood of being hired? Also, how complicated would the transition between workplaces be?
