'Mildly Positive' American Patient Has Been Moved Out of Biocontainment to Quarantine Center Despite Showing Symptoms

The CDC alleges that this patient initially took 2 tests after docking:

  1. Positive
  2. Negative

At the Biocontainment center, other tests were conducted which came back negative, however the patient is seemingly symptomatic.

I worry they arent considering Andes virus's ability to stop infected cells from reducing interferon, which initially damps an immune response. I wonder if the tests are looking for antibodies, which wouldnt necessarily be there in a testable range even slightly after showing symptoms. Maybe I am wrong, I just hope they are testing these people for the ANDV virions themselves as opposed to some immune signature

Overall, I'm concerned that there is this 'symptom first' approach occurring right now, because that works for a lot of viruses. But ANDV is one of those exceptions, the virus artificially inhibits immune response, which means you can have zero symptoms (besides minor headache which may be from the virions, which are electrically charged, actually circulating within the veins around the head.) but still be highly contagious because the virus is able to reproduce and multiply within you for some time without any Immunol hinderance, and we know humans produce respiratory droplets from talking, not just from coughing and sneezing.

Additionally, the CDC is not releasing any information about the passengers who got off the boat early, took various planes to different places (almost all the passengers on the MV Hondius were 'avid travelers'), and won't even reveal where these people who are only being asked to quarantine even are, citing 'privacy concerns' which I find hilarious coming from the fed specifically.

Update on French Patient

The woman, one of five French passengers flown back from the MV Hondius and placed in isolation in Paris, started to feel very unwell on Sunday night and tested positive. She is currently on a ventilator and is in critical condition.

What concerns me about this virus is how quickly you go from 'im feeling fine!' to being on a ventilator. This is due to how the Andes virus inhibits your body from producing 'interferon' which is a chemical infected cells release in order to inform the body to mount an immune response. So, essentially, you have no immune response, and then ALL AT ONCE your immune system goes from 0-100.

"...A legal framework to track down any known identified contacts of infected patients to be tracked down and isolated quickly" was an interesting quote.

I gen hope this doesnt become a thing, but I am very concerned with how lackadaisical and dismissive authorities are being atm

A second woman jet-setted around the globe after leaving the Andes Virus-plagued vessel, without anyone noticing

A look into one of the untraced cases, rightly pointing out the cruise passengers on this particular boat are rich and fetishize travel, and not your run of the mill swinger pensioner looking for an all inclusive.

This one went to an 'extreme traveler' conf in vietnam, multiple flights, and lives in Manhattan. No posts online since the 5th. Maybe dead in her apt, maybe just freaked people have found her. Seemingly uncontacted by the tracers
