Hi, I'm 23 weeks pregnant with boy/girl twins. Last night I was laying on my back watching TV for about 45 minutes. When I finally got up I noticed that I couldn't take a full deep breath. It felt tight. I have asthma (its been under control) so I know the feeling well. I used my emergency inhaler but I didn't seem to do much. Every time I tried to take a deep breath there was tightness/pressure. I wouldn't say pain? I also have a minor cough that I've had for maybe 2 weeks? I am a bit congested and do have allergies but haven't been taking anything for it.
This morning I'm still experiencing the tightness or short of breath. I messaged my OB nurse and she said it could be due to them getting bigger but I should follow up with my primary care to address my lungs.
I noticed an increase in the tightness after eating lunch. I also noticed that if I lean on a counter while standing, letting my belly hang, I have a slightly easier time taking a deep breath.
At what point do i visit the ER? I have an appointment with Primary on Monday. I'm just worried its more serious than them just crushing me internally (I have severe health anxiety)
