Our Tchibo machine has been acting up recently, so I’ve been waiting somewhat patiently for a Delonghi machine (either Start or Evo w/ Lattecrema) to go on sale. My price point is between $500-$650. I see that the Evo is on sale now, but I didn’t pull the trigger right away because I wasn’t sure if they fixed the magic eye issue (was leaning more towards the Start because of this). I decided to go on this subreddit to do more research and happened to just learn about KitchenAid’s new line of compact machines and also about the crazy deal on the KF4 through Inside Pass right now, which puts both at a comparable price.
So of course, now I am torn between whether to get the Evo or KF4…I don’t have any prior experience with either brands, so I’m looking for opinions on:
- Makes a decently strong shot/drink without having to go through a dial in period
- Ease of cleaning/maintenance
- Customer service/warranty
