What types of chutneys do you prefer with idli?

We usually do a coconut-peanut one and a sharper coriander-green chilli-garlic-lime based one (the latter being dark green). Tonight my Mom blitzed coconut, peanuts and coriander together after a coconut turned out rotten and we had less than half of an older one left and imo it turned out better.

I felt the green chutney we had earlier was a bit strong for my liking. We're not South Indian, only recently started having idli weekly after being gifted a steamer. Honestly like the plain kind better than masala and what other variants have you.

Curious to know what you usually have them with.

Market research, market intelligence, consumer insights.

I have about 5 years full time experience in Market Research focused on categories like FMCG, BFSI, construction materials, automotive etc.

I have handled high value research engagements end to end - responsibilities have included data analysis and reporting, project management, stakeholder management, business development, thought leadership marketing.

I am seeking roles in market research, market intelligence, consumer research and am available to start immediately. I have already applied to a few UAE based roles in recent weeks, and am continuing to apply. If you can help me connect with relevant roles, it will help immensely.

Thank you!

First ever visit to Chowman - satisfied.

Visited Mira road branch last night with family. We were a group of 4, took maybe 15 minutes to be seated (had pre booked via Dineout). We had 4 dishes between us.

Started with Thai Style Drums of Heaven and Pepper Garlic Chicken, the latter recommended by our server. Both tasted great, except maybe too similar by flavour profile. I love fiery, well seasoned appetisers so lapped it up.

Concluded with Chicken Phad Thai and Shanghai style chicken mei fun. Both had decent portion sizes and had ample quantities of chicken. The Phad Thai was maybe a bit fiery than the kind I've had in Thailand, but otherwise authentic to the source.

They have some kind of Asian Food Festival running currently, so I hope to be back for another visit. Let know what else you've liked there (I don't eat pork or fish, though I saw bhetki listed which I love). Given the size of their menu, it will take plenty of visits to sample most of their best sellers, that part I'm sure.

What data analysis and visualisation tools have helped your CV stand out and which ones do you use regularly?

I have about 5 years full time experience mostly in agencies - mostly quant, some qual adjacent work in digital ethnography using social listening tools.

I've been out of work 6+ months since my last role was mis-sold to me as MR related - it was more customer success related in the financial services industry.

Recently I had my CV reviewed by someone in an AI solutions function at one of the MBB consulting firms. They said I have a strong CV and were happy to refer me when relevant roles opened up.

They advised me to learn Tableau and Alteryx which will help my CV stand out. I've only used Excel in my career thus far - don't really have advanced mastery, mostly pivots etc. I've also not learned stuff like PowerBI or SQL (various reasons, but acknowledge my own culpability).

I'm also reading about other stuff like Looker or Python. What should I prioritise learning at this point assuming I spend most of my day studying?

Tl;dr - Childhood friend who I am very close to dropped off 2 sarees, 2 Raymond shirt and trouser material sets, 1 Cello casserole, 1 flask, 2 large boxes of sweets and savouries and .. 4 cash envelopes yesterday as return gifts after his recent wedding (we're a family of 4). Wondering if that's usual in families of comparable status. Friend is originally from Kanpur division although raised outside UP.

So we've been extremely close for almost 19 years. Think of him as one of my closest confidants other than my Mom. I've also been to his sister's wedding along with my family earlier. Our parents still live in the same city where we met in school (5 km apart).

Like all our other friends present, I stayed awake the whole night of the wedding helping around with physical chores such as loading and unloading large boxes of wedding paraphernalia like I did in his sister's wedding a few years ago.

Our parents don't meet often other than on such events but for instance we're close enough that friend's Mamaji touched my Dad's feet having recognised him from another friend's wedding.

The Mamaji also likes pulling my leg whenever we meet, introducing me to some of their guests during the wedding

"Uske (nephew) dosto me ek yahi tha jo mujhe 12 saal baad dekh ke bhi turant pehchana bola Mamaji aap he humare school aatey the na uska dabba dene jab wo ghar pe bhul jata tha."

Further, my parents also dropped some wedding guests on their way home in our car since they didn't stay until wedding wrapped up in wee hours of the morning. You can glean how close the families are. Also we're wards of ex defence personnel so the Dads have that in common whenever they meet on such occasions.

As for our gifts - we had gifted Rs 2500 cash on the night of the engagement and also Rs 2500 cash on the wedding night. His sister's was the first UP origin family engagement and wedding I attended and there we learned that something is gifted to the couple during stage photo ops even on engagement night although this time ours was the only family that gifted something on the engagement night (all our other friends are also UP origin).

Of course, I've always known my friend to be very helpful, generous and jovial. He's well to do of course, father having been in merchant navy last 25 years he too worked in shipping himself for a few years.

Still, the bit about gifting cash envelopes along with so many gifts in kind as return gifts got me wondering if we'd gifted a pittance for our family size and that we'd attended on 2 days? Our other friends had also attended sangeet etc so total 3 days.

Return gifts aren't really a thing in weddings in my home state so all this is a bit of a system shock to me. Even if, my friend had dropped by to gift 2 large sweet boxes shortly after his sister's wedding too a few years ago.

Please help me assess the situation or if my apprehensions are unfounded. Thank you.

Have HDFC Swiggy CC since past couple of years and it's pretty decent for what it offers. Dine out occasions are maybe 1-2 a month bills rarely exceed ₹1k after cashback & Dineout discounts as we're a small family and hamstrung for choice of eateries as parents are aged 50s and don't take kindly to non Indian/Indo Chinese cuisines. I live in Thane near Mumbai and mostly go for dinner within 7 km radius of home (rarely farther than 3-4 km) - is this card any bit better in terms of benefits than HDFC Swiggy?

Did you know what crime they witnessed? In case you were close, did you wonder what became of them or did developments in whatever case they were taken into the program for allow you to re-enter their life?

Visited one in a posh area tonight and it was hardly occupied. Boneheaded staff brought orders with one plate less than the diners seated. Not once bothering to replenish tissues, cutlery. Even cleaning was not spotless and only once they bothered clean up of their own accord.

They had the gall to add ₹76 service charge to a total bill amount of ₹1408. I wasn't in mood for argument so deliberately rounded off to the nearest bill amount that helped fetch extra ₹150 cashback, reducing my net bill effectively by some ₹55.

I only once ordered for delivery from this outlet years ago as I don't have pizza often now - doubt I'll ever be back. On a weekday with barely 50% table occupancy ensure to at least pay rapt attention to however many guests are present.

I empathise plenty with service staff for their hours and wages - with the caveat they make my family feel welcomed instead of wandering off to make small talk with their workmates at each conceivable opportunity.

I live in an apartment building and heard loud swearing, noises of articles shattering after being aimed at someone/against a wall just a few minutes ago. I noted the flat number and dialled 112.

Explained the situation and they asked me to confirm my name and police station which I unwittingly did and asked if I heard a female voice (negated) and asked if I felt ambulance is needed (negated) and asked me to confirm my location then said not to worry and that they'd noted where ambulance is to sent. I had clearly said I didn't need an ambulance (the disturbance had died down but the noises were loud and frightening enough to prompt the call).

Am I in a pickle?
