I’m new to the subject and listening to the podcast I was intrigued by the initial identification of the rifle as a 7.65 German Mauser. I could also understand it being a simple mistake but does anyone hold any weight to it being more than that? Maybe I’ll get to a more definitive answer in later episodes

I’m listening to a podcast on the subject and they were talking about the discovery of the gun and I had a question (I am stupidly when it comes to guns)
When they discovered it they mentioned the “bolt was up” and when they disengaged it a live round fell out. Does this mean the shooter was getting ready to fire another bullet but then maybe seen the fatal shot to the president and realized that was enough? Kind of a stupid question but was just curious
